Christmas Season is Here!

Hi Family!

Christmas season is already here! Yes, the stores are already busting with artificial trees and glimmering ornaments, the kids are not-so-subtley hinting at their wish lists, as many of our workplaces struggle to delegate the holiday potluck, let us remember what Christmas is actually about: the birth of our Lord and Savior. Christmas is about hope coming in the form of a baby. Christmas is about grace showing up in a manger.

This December, we would love for you to celebrate our Savior with us by joining us in 3 different ways to love on our community this Christmas Season!

1.  Rosebank Elementary Water Bottle Donation
Rosebank has asked if we can help them with their annual "Homeless Connect Bags." Each year during the holidays they partner with 4 other schools to make goodie bags and pass out flyers with resources. They are in charge of getting water bottles and their goal is to collect 1,000 bottles. They are currently at 200 and need our help! If you can bring a case of water to the school (12oz or 16oz) anytime before Dec 4th to help reach their goal!

2. Young Life Pamper With A Purpose
Pamper with a Purpose is an annual event held by Young Life that serves inner city female teens and teen Moms. This event will take place at Grace Renewal Church in Chula Vista on Monday Dec 11th. It will give girls an opportunity to get pampered, shop through hundreds of clothing items as well as enjoy dinner. In order for this to take place we need your help! As a Church we would like to come along Young Life South Bay to help by donating towards gift cards that will be given out to each girl, donating new or lightly used clothes for teens, or volunteer to serve the day of the event.

3.  Young Life Angel Tree Camp Sponsorship
Young Life will be having their winter camp this February and if you were at gathering this past Sunday you heard how transforming these camps are! Our hope is that finances are not an issue for some of their teens. Starting this Sunday we will have a Christmas Tree up with ornaments that have Young Life teens in need of a sponsorships for their winter camp! Come check it out during our Family Time and feel free to email us with any questions.

Lastly, join us for our Advent series: A Christmas Story stating Dec 3rd as we approach our Christmas Eve services hosted at Paseo Del Rey Church. We will be having two services 4pm & 5:30pm.

Invite your friends and family and come join us as we celebrate Emmanuel, God With Us, Jesus, the Light Shining in the Darkness!

In His Grace,

Restored South Bay Eldership Team & Staff

Sunday Sermon Recap - "Living in God's Calling"

This past weekend we announced that Brad and Sarah Sarian will be moving up to the San Fernando Valley (L.A. County) to plant a church in December. On Sunday morning, Brad kicked off our "Christ & Culture" mini-series as we continue through 1 Corinthians. The main point Paul was explaining in 1 Cor. 7:17-24 was that God's call on our lives is not a mysterious puzzle to decipher, but a clear call to obedience, in context, with Him. As the morning unfolded, Brad explained how he, Sarah, and the elders have felt that God has called them to plant another church in the Northridge area in the next six months. While there were many tears, there was also plenty of excitement. We also announced how Jarek Berga will be stepping into Brad's role as a paid elder and how God has been creatively orchestrating the whole thing behind the scene this entire time.

It is always sad to see a part of the family move for the sake of the Gospel, but it is also a beautiful picture of what we see in Acts and has been our vision statement from the beginning, "To start a movement of reproducing churches empowered by the radical grace of Jesus Christ to love San Diego and glorify God."
